The Queen’s Corgis

This is a story of how the queen got her corgis, told by a 92 year old welsh woman who remembers a story told to her by her father.

We often see pictures of the queen with her iconic corgis yet we wouldn’t have heard about the young electrical engineer, who grew up in a small town in Wales, who advised the queen on which dog to buy.

It’s magical the way these small unknown stories form much bigger cultural pictures. There are lots of stories like these. Stories which are small and largely unimportant but which mean a lot to the people telling them.
