Featuring the work of new and established poets. Poetry Corner is a chance to explore the world in abstract ways, through poetry, memories, field-recordings, we hope each episode will feel like a poem in and of itself.
This weeks episode celebrates Movement and Transitions.
We hear from artist, Elspeth Penfold, who invites us to join her on a listening-walk to create a quipu. We are joined by a wild-swimmer who explores the movement of water and people's relationship to water. We hear from athlete and poet, Freya Glen, as she talks poetry and strenuous physical activity.
We also talk about times in society where movement has been more restricted (through the lockdown we are experiencing now and during the World Wars when people were evacuated to safer areas).
We hear a beautiful reading from Oriel Bathurst of Everyone Sang, Siegfried Sassoon.
